THE COFFEE
Finca Aragon is situated right in the heart of Antigua, Guatemala. The region is known for an ideal coffee growing climate and nutrient dense, volcanic soil. The rainfall in this region is usually between 800 mm and 1,200 mm each year with a humidity that stays relatively constant at around 65%. Guatemala has distinct wet and dry seasons provide for a consistent climate that leads to a uniformity of maturation among the coffee plants, with harvest typically occurring from January to the middle of March. Alejandro Zelaya has owned the farm for many years and its planted mostly with Bourbon and Caturra. In 2011, Alejandro took 10th place in the Cup of Excellence.
THE PROCESS
Alejandro entrusts Bella Vista Mill with the careful processing of his coffee. This underwent a classic washed process and shows a lot of complex fruit characteristics such as cherry, plum, and strawberry. You'll love this coffee for its richness, sweetness and overall fruited complexity!
