THORP-El Salvador, Finca Retiro, Honey Process
This is a honey processed, red bourbon coffee from Finca El Retiro in Canton Buenos Aires, El Salvador. Finca El Retiro was founded in 1927 by Fernando Alberto Pacas Figueroa, and has since been passed between four generations. The farm is continuously pushing the boundaries to improve quality, mixing traditional best practice with cutting edge quality control systems and techniques. Coffee at the farm grows under a canopy of shade made of indigenous tree varieties such as the balsam and ingas.
Finca El Retiro employs 24 permanent workers and provides seasonal work for 105 temporary workers at the peak of harvest. Free medical care is offered to all the farm's employees.
