TYEE-Kenya Gatomboya Peaberry Sort
THE COFFEE
Gatomboya is a coffee washing station in Kenya's famed coffee growing Nyeri County, near Karatina town. The cooperative members deliver their coffee cherry for pulping, fermenting, washing, drying. Small washing stations are aligned with a particular "society" which is what they call a cooperative in Kenya. Gatomboya is part of the Barichu Farmers Cooperative Society.
THE PROCESS
This coffee underwent classic Kenya style processing; 72 hour washed process; dried on raised beds for 8- 12 days. The coffee was then sorted separating the AA, AB, and Peaberry sizes. This particular offering is the Peaberry sort.
