Family Owned & Operated
The Carvitto family's journey into the world of specialty coffee can be traced back to our grandfather Jud. By trade he was a forest service ranger in the Methow Valley in the 1940's & 1950's and took his family on work related trips into the Pasayten Wilderness. His dedication of love and respect for the backcountry has been instilled in our family and is what drew us to call Leavenworth, Washington home.
By the 1970's Jud and his wife Mary had retired to Omak, WA. It was then they pioneered from drinking coffee out of a can to mail ordering from Seattle's Starbucks Coffee, a regional high quality coffee roaster at the time. Much has changed in the ways of roasting since then, but much like our grandfather we too have spent years getting coffee through the mail. We have grown to appreciate progressive roasters who showcase a coffee's origin and different processing methods through a more modern, lighter roasting style. We believe that Lookout Coffee Roasters is a tribute to a love of both rugged country and great coffee.
